  Every once in a while I give a presentation. Currently, my favorit subject is e-mail related modules for Perl. If you want me to talk for your company or conference, please drop a mail.  
 
  • NLUUG 1995: NLUUG Autumn conference 1995: Publishing on the World Wide Web.
    The NLUUG is the Dutch UNIX User Group. During the talk on their conference, we presented the development of the DHP. The name of the article was quite long:
    Maintaining Dynamic WWW Pages: "The Dutch Home-Page", A Meeting-Point in The Netherlands.
    The paper was published in the proceedings and received the 'best paper' award.
  • NLUUG 1999: NLUUG Autumn conference 1999: Has the Penguin grown up?

  • Desire 2 (Desire main page) is a set of projects coordinated by TERENA to apply Internet for scientific libraries. I was asked to the the peer review on the final deliverables of the joint projects.

  • NLUUG Spring conference 2003: Webtools
    An aggressive standpoint against 'on demand' production of web-pages during my talk Tools for the Masses. Dynamic websites are hard to maintain and expensive to implement. Often, the decission to use 'on demand' production of websites is caused by a misunderstanding of the word 'dynamics'. With a simple modification to the web-site construction, you can make web-sites very cheap: the technical part of most web-sites doesn't take more than a day to be implemented.
